House Visits Best Platform To Hear Views & Needs Of People
SARIKEI: The house visiting tradition in conjunction with the festive season continues to be the best platform to hear the views and understand the needs of the people at the grassroots level.
Deputy Minister of Plantations and Commodities Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii said that the approach of going down to the field in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration this time is to engage with the community and review the needs of the people at the grassroots level in Sarikei.
"This practice must be continued from time to time so that the welfare of the people in this district is always given due attention," he said when met during a house visit in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebrations, here, recently.
During the house visits held with the Repok Service Centre recently, he took the opportunity to interact with the local residents in an atmosphere full of goodwill.
The Repok Assemblyman also stressed that the Chinese New Year celebration is not only celebrated by the Chinese community, but is also a celebration with people of all ethnicities, thus strengthening the relationship between leaders and the community.
During the visit, he visited the residences of Penghulu Ley Kok Lun, Penghulu Yeu Chii Tung and Wong Hua Ting, in addition to spending time connecting with the local community to celebrate the joy of Chinese New Year together. -UKASnews
