SIMUNJAN: A total of 300 packets of bubur lambuk were distributed to government agencies, villagers, visitors to the Ramadan bazaar and road users passing through the Padang Sentral Simunjan area on Friday.

The programme was organised by the Simunjan District Office in collaboration with the District’s Community Leaders and Village Heads (KMKK), the Persatuan Mencegah Dadah Malaysia (PEMADAM), and the One Stop Committee (OSC) for Addressing Drug and Substance Issues (MIDS) Simunjan District.

The initiative formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and foster closer ties within the local community throughout the month of Ramadan.

The event was further enlivened by the presence of Batang Sadong Member of Parliament, Rodiyah Sapiee, who took time to mingle with members of the community.

She said that organising such programmes is highly significant in reinforcing the relationship between leaders and the people.

“Bubur lambuk symbolises the spirit of family and unity during Ramadan. I would like to record my sincere appreciation to all parties, including the Simunjan District Office, KMKK, PEMADAM and OSC MIDS Simunjan, for their commitment in making this meaningful programme a success,” she said when met.

She also encouraged the public to continue supporting similar community-based initiatives in the future to ensure that the welfare of all segments of society remains a priority. She expressed hope that the programme would be sustained and expanded in scope to further strengthen ties between leaders and the community in the district.

Meanwhile, Simunjan District Officer Sanuyah Mohamad said the programme is an annual event aimed at nurturing the spirit of togetherness while assisting those in need.

“This programme is part of our continuous efforts to ensure that every segment of society benefits, especially during this blessed month,” she added.
