Sarawak Refines Aid Measures To Address Rising Prices Of Goods & Fuel
MIRI: In an effort to ease the mounting pressure of the rising cost of living increasingly felt by the public, the Sarawak Government will channel assistance following the current increase in the prices of goods and fuel.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, said the initiative is currently being refined at the Cabinet level to ensure that the assistance provided will genuinely have an impact on those affected.
“We will be holding a meeting. In fact, I have already announced in the Cabinet that we will be providing some assistance to address the present challenges,” he said when met by the media after the 60th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Dinner of SMK Long Lama here on Saturday.
The Sarawak Premier added that an official announcement regarding the form and mechanism of the assistance will be made once the matter has been finalised.
“We will announce it after this,” he added.
Also present at the event were Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat, Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak Dato’ Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Telang Usan Assemblyman who is also Patron of the SMK Long Lama Association Dato Dennis Ngau, Baram Member of Parliament Dato Anyi Ngau, Miri Division Resident Galong Luang, Chairman of the SMK Long Lama Alumni Association Margaret Uding Nawan, as well as other guests. -UKASnews
