DBNA Proven To Be Unifying Platform For Bidayuh Community
SERIAN: The Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) has proven to be an important platform in uniting the Bidayuh community in Sarawak since its establishment in 1955.
Education Adviser at the Sarawak Premier’s Department, Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong, said that the slogan “Indi Awang Indi Asung Indi Bidayuh”, which is closely associated with the Bidayuh community, should continue to be upheld as a symbol of identity and unity.
At the same time, he also reminded that DBNA is not a political party but rather an organisation that advocates for the welfare and progress of the Bidayuh community.
In this regard, he called on the Bidayuh community to take pride in the role played by DBNA and to continue giving strong support to the association.
In another development, he proposed that a DBNA Serian education fund be established to assist Bidayuh students in furthering their studies at public institutions of higher learning (IPTA) and private institutions of higher learning (IPTS) in Sarawak.
Also present were Bukit Semuja Assemblyman John Ilus, Tebedu Assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada, Sarawak Veterinary Director Datu Adrian Susin Ambud, and DBNA Serian Chairman Dr Chali Ungang. -UKASnews
