Miri Education & Career Exhibition Offers More Than 300 Employment Opportunities
MIRI: Over 300 job opportunities are being offered at the 5th Education and Career Exhibition 2026 at the Miri Indoor Stadium, reinforcing its role as a strategic platform guiding the future direction of youth in northern Sarawak.
The three-day programme which conducted from 10 to 12 April 2026 gathered 40 educational institutions alongside 20 companies and entrepreneurs, offering a comprehensive space for students and job seekers to engage directly with educational and career prospects.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew stated that the exhibition not only grants access to information on advanced education but also facilitates employment opportunities through on site open interviews.
“The programme offers a holistic opportunity for students, school leavers and parents to better comprehend educational pathways, scholarship applications and career trajectories,” he said while reviewing preparations for the exhibition at Miri Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
He noted that visitors can explore the education exhibition between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. while the career exhibition will be accessible from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the exhibition period.
The programme, jointly organised by the SUPP Piasau Youth Section and the Miri Education Initiative Society (MEIS) in collaboration with MMS Education Centre, the Miri Division Education Office, and PERKESO Miri, is scheduled to be launched on 10 April.
At the same time, the presence of agencies such as the Sarawak Foundation, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) and Affin Bank is set to enrich visitors’ experience by offering guidance on education loans, financial aid and other student support programs.
“Among the key highlights is the establishment of a dedicated counter by Yayasan Sarawak to provide detailed information on the state government’s free higher education initiatives, thereby enhancing public awareness of the available opportunities,” he added.
The MTCP Deputy Minister further stated that members of the public may access the schedules of lectures and company sharing sessions by scanning the provided QR codes, enabling them to obtain preliminary information and follow ongoing developments in the employment sector. -UKASnews
