Kampung Penipah Benefits From Development Surge As RM6 Million Enhances Local Living Standards
SEMOP: The disbursement of over RM6 million for development in Kampung Penipah within a three-year period demonstrates the continuous commitment of the Sarawak government towards empowering rural infrastructure and enhancing the living standards of the public.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol stated that the implementation of various strategic projects in the area is showing positive progress and delivering a direct impact on residents.
“Kampung Penipah has received over RM6 million in development allocations over the last three years, involving essential infrastructure projects that are much needed by the people,” he said during the 2026 Aidilfitri Festive Gathering for the Semop state constituency and Tanjung Manus parliamentary constituency here on Tuesday.
The Semop Assemblyman added that among the primary projects is the RM4.5 million rehabilitation of the drainage and irrigation system under the Mukah Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID).
This project is currently in the implementation stage following the appointment of a contractor in March 2026.

He also shared that the RM710,000 upgrade of the Kampung Penipah Community Hall is currently in full swing, while the RM280,000 repair work for the village mosque sees the completion of its site visit phase.
At the same time, the delivery of projects under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation continues to provide direct benefits to the local community, including the construction of culverts and a cement road to Kampung Laut costing RM90,000 which was completed in January 2026
Further works included the RM60,000 embankment project surrounding the mosque, completed in March 2026, as well as the construction of a parking facility near Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Penipah valued at RM40,000. The RM30,000 replacement of the steel safety fencing on the school access bridge was also finalised this past January.
“These projects as a whole reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring inclusive development and improving the quality of life for rural communities,” he said.
