Sarikei Hospital Becomes The Pulse Of Community Healthcare Transformation
SARIKEI: Sarikei Hospital continues to play a vital role in the development of the local community through various transformations implemented over the 20 years since its establishment to strengthen healthcare services.
Deputy Minister of Plantations and Commodities and Member of Parliament for Sarikei, Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii, stated that the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Sarikei Hospital serves as a symbol of significant achievement in efforts to enhance the quality of treatment and ensure more comprehensive healthcare access for the people.
“Throughout these 20 years, various improvements have been implemented, including the upgrading of physical facilities, the strengthening of expertise, and the enhancement of the service delivery system.
“Sarikei Hospital does not only provide treatment; it has become the pulse of local community development and a catalyst for the transformation of the health sector,” he said while speaking at the officiating ceremony of the Sarikei Hospital 20th Anniversary Celebration here on Saturday.
Meanwhile, according to him, quality healthcare services must be enjoyed by all levels of society regardless of location or background, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations.
He noted that various initiatives have been implemented to ensure the development gap between urban and rural areas can be narrowed, including in the aspect of access to healthcare facilities.
“This is in line with the principles of inclusive and balanced development, which form the core of Sarawak’s development agenda,” he added.
At the same time, Dato’ Sri Huang also expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, for his continuous commitment to empowering the health sector through infrastructure development and the expansion of service reach.
He also hoped that Sarikei Hospital would continue to be a catalyst for the transformation of the health sector through the digitalisation of services, the enhancement of expertise, and the strengthening of a more resilient healthcare system in the future. -UKASnews
