1,187 State Projects Under 13MP, RM49.98 Billion Approved
KUCHING: A total of 1,187 projects funded by the Sarawak Government, with a ceiling allocation of RM49.98 billion, have been approved under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
Sarawak Deputy Premier, who is also the Second Minister for Finance and New Economy, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said 823 projects or 69 per cent are physical projects, while the remaining 364 projects or 31 per cent are non-physical projects.
“For 2026, a total of RM9.3 billion has been allocated for the first year of 13MP , and as of the first quarter of this year, RM2.2 billion has been spent,” he said during his ministerial winding-up session at the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on Wednesday.
For state-funded projects under 12MP, he said 1,391 projects funded by the Sarawak Government with a ceiling allocation of RM39.79 billion have been approved, comprising 986 physical projects or 71 per cent, and 405 non-physical projects or 29 per cent.
According to him, as of 31 December 2025, which marks the final year of 12MP, out of the 986 physical projects, 391 projects or 40 per cent have been completed, while the remaining 595 projects or 60 per cent are at various stages of implementation.
Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Douglas said a ceiling allocation of RM900 million has been approved for the implementation of 4,534 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects under 13MP.
“As of April 2026, out of the RM350 million allocation approved for 2026, RM141.2 million or 40.4 per cent has been spent,” he said.
He added that under 12MP, a total of 13,636 RTP projects with an allocation of RM2.21 billion have been approved, of which RM2.04 billion or 98 per cent has been spent, with 11,392 projects successfully completed.
He also said that 404 People’s Projects have been completed as of end-2025, with total expenditure of RM3.89 billion, and these will be further strengthened under 13MP. -UKASnews
