Sarawak Civil Service Strengthened To Become More Agile & Rakyat-Focused
KUCHING: The Sarawak Civil Service continues to be strengthened towards a delivery system that is more agile, responsive and outcome-oriented, to ensure the state’s development agenda is effectively implemented down to the grassroots level.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Abang Openg stressed that the existing work culture must be transformed into a more collaborative approach, guided by data and emphasising proactive innovation.
According to him, the focus of the civil service should also shift from routine administration to more effective implementation, with greater emphasis on proactive innovation.
“Government officers must consistently go to the ground, particularly in rural and interior areas, to hear directly from the people and better understand their needs,” he said.
He said this during his winding-up session at the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on Wednesday.
In addition, he said his administration has also implemented various programmes and benefits to safeguard the welfare and enhance the capabilities of state civil servants.
He added that these initiatives are expected to serve as a motivation for civil servants to continue delivering excellent service and improve the efficiency of public service delivery to the people. -UKASnews
