JobSarawak A Major Government Initiative To Streamline Job Matching & Workforce Development
KUCHING: The digital employment platform, JobSarawak, has now emerged as one of the Sarawak government's primary instruments in streamlining job matching and state workforce development.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg stated that through the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, emphasis is placed on using digital technology to enhance efficiency in job access and strengthen the connection between job seekers and employers.
According to him, JobSarawak functions as a one-stop platform that facilitates job searches across various sectors, including full-time, part-time, contract, and gig employment, in line with changing modern work patterns.
"In collaboration with the Immigration and Labour Management Unit (ILMU) and through integration with federal agencies such as the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), JobSarawak enhances coordination between Sarawak and national workforce agencies, while facilitating the participation of employers and job seekers throughout Sarawak," he said.
He said this during his winding-up session in conjunction with the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting on Wednesday.
Since its launch on January 15, 2025, JobSarawak has recorded over 1 million website visits, with more than 10,000 registered companies offering various vacancies, as well as attracting over 21,000 registered job seekers nationwide.
The Sarawak Government views this development as an early indicator of the effectiveness of digital transformation in the employment sector, besides supporting efforts to increase workforce participation and local talent retention. — UKASnews
