110 Street Lights Installed Across Kedup Constituency
TEBEDU: A total of 110 street lights have been installed from Kampung Terbat Leban to Kampung Mapu Kijabu in the Kedup constituency under a RM1 million allocation channelled through the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA).
Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben said the street lighting project would be expanded to several other locations in stages to improve safety and convenience for rural residents, particularly at night.
According to the Kedup Assemblyman, roads earmarked for future installations include the stretch from Kampung Krusen to Bunan Mongkos, Jalan Mentung, Paon Rimu/Entayan/Kampung Slabi up to Pridan, as well as Kampung Sangai Mawang.
He said this when speaking to officiate the project at Kampung Terbat Leban Multipurpose Hall on Thursday.
Datuk Martin also revealed that the Tebedu constituency would similarly benefit from the implementation of the project through allocations under GKCDA.
During the event, he also presented six Minor Rural Project (MRP) cheques totalling RM36,000 to three village chiefs representing Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), women’s bureaus and youth clubs.
Also present were Tebedu Assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada and GKCDA Special Administrative Officer Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik. -UKASnews
