BINTULU: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Bintulu 2026 programme successfully attracted more than 30,000 visitors throughout its three-day run, proving the effectiveness of the government’s approach in engaging with the people through direct service delivery.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) Datuk Majang Renggi said that through the One Stop Centre Rakyat concept, various government agencies are deployed on the ground to facilitate the people’s access to the services and assistance they require.
“For your information, the Sarawakku Sayang in Bintulu recorded more than 30,000 visitors throughout the three days of the programme.
“This enables matters related to documentation, welfare assistance, advisory services and other related services to be accessed conveniently, without requiring the people to bear high travel costs or travel long distances to government offices,” he said while delivering his speech at the closing ceremony of the SKS Bintulu 2026 programme here on Sunday.
Datuk Majang Renggi added that the programme also had a positive impact on the local economy, with 50 entrepreneurs participating in Bintulu Kitchen and Sell and total sales estimated to exceed RM400,000.
Additionally, he said a total of eight companies conducted open interview sessions involving more than 400 candidates who attended to compete for the job opportunities offered.
“This is the development approach that we continue to advocate, namely one that is inclusive and comprehensive, impacting lives and providing direct benefits to the community,” he stated.
The minister, who also serves as Samalaju Assemblyman, said the SKS programme also acts as a catalyst for local economic growth and serves as a platform linking the people with various government services.
