Road Upgrading Project To Enhance Convenience For Bintangor Residents
MERADONG: A RM20.035 million road upgrading project approved by the Sarawak Government for the main route connecting Kampung Rancak Bintangor to Bintangor Town is expected to bring significant benefits to residents and road users in the area.
Meradong Assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the project, which is being implemented through the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RDDA), is currently underway and is expected to be completed within 24 months.
According to him, the project will improve the comfort and safety of road users while helping to ease traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours.
“The implementation of this project reflects the Sarawak Government’s continued commitment to strengthening infrastructure and transportation networks for the wellbeing of the people,” he said when speaking at the Meradong Constituency Gawai Programme held at several longhouses around Tanah Putih, Sungai Petai, Skim B Meradong, Jalan KJD, Ulu Stras and Sungai Buloh on Tuesday.
He added that the project is among the Sarawak Government’s initiatives under the leadership of the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, to ensure balanced development is enjoyed by residents in rural areas and small towns.
At the same time, Datuk Ding called on the community to continue maintaining close cooperation with the government to ensure development initiatives can be implemented smoothly for the benefit of the people.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak Government for approving the project, which he believes will have a positive impact on local development and economic growth.
The programme, which entered its 23rd day, also saw Datuk Ding engaging with longhouse residents through meet-and-greet sessions and the presentation of contributions in conjunction with the Gawai Day celebration.
The programme became even more lively when he participated in several activities with residents, including singing, joining a poco-poco exercise session and performing the 'ngajat' dance as a show of support for the cultural heritage of the Dayak community.
