Sarawak Civil Service On Right Track To Drive PCDS 2030 Achievement
KUCHING: The Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) is on the right track to effectively drive the implementation of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and deliver tangible benefits to the people.
Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, said the SCS is always ready in terms of capacity and capability to support all initiatives driven by the Sarawak Premier.
He said various continuous efforts are being carried out to strengthen the capabilities of civil servants in line with the changing landscape of public service delivery.
"We place emphasis on a results-based approach. This means every plan, implementation and project carried out must be genuinely felt by the people.
"The people must benefit from every project and initiative implemented, because for us, the people are always the priority," he said.
He made these remarks when met by the media after officiating at the 2025 Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) Excellence Service Award (APC) Ceremony at Pullman Hotel on Tuesday.
Also present was SFC General Manager Abang Arabi Abang Aimran.
Elaborating further, he said the SCS also places emphasis on cultivating new work norms and the use of digital technology among civil servants to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery.
He said the 3R approach, namely Revisit, Rethink and Recharge, needs to be continuously applied so that civil servants are always evaluating their performance, addressing weaknesses, and sustaining a culture of innovation within the organisation.
"With the changing expectations of the people, we as civil servants must also change in the way we deliver services.
"If there are newer and more effective approaches, then we must implement them to ensure that the services provided remain relevant and meet the needs of the people," he said.
Meanwhile, he said the impact of the state's development agenda is becoming increasingly evident to the people through the implementation of various mega projects and infrastructure developments across Sarawak.
He noted that projects such as village expansion schemes, construction of bridges and roads, as well as water and electricity supply projects, have directly benefited the people in both urban and rural areas.
While acknowledging that there are still several aspects that need to be improved, he gave assurance that the SCS will remain committed to ensuring that every development project can be enjoyed by the people to the fullest. -UKASnews
