Study Visit Programme To Strengthen JKKK Leadership In Samarahan, Asajaya
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Plans to hold a study visit programme to strengthen grassroots community leadership, involving representatives of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) from the Samarahan and Asajaya areas, were discussed here.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament, Datuk Rubiah Wang, said plans were underway to implement a programme aimed at giving participants fresh exposure in community development, strengthening of community leadership and socioeconomic development.
She said such a programme is important as a platform to broaden participants' knowledge through the sharing of experiences and best practices that can be adapted and implemented in their respective areas.
She said this while chairing a meeting session with district officials and JKKK representatives at the Samarahan District Office Meeting Room on Friday.
She added that exposure to successful approaches and initiatives in other locations can help community leaders design more effective programmes for the benefit of local residents.
She said close cooperation between community leaders and the administration is an important element in ensuring that every development programme can be planned and implemented in an organised manner and deliver maximum impact to the people.
Datuk Rubiah hoped the upcoming study visit programme would serve as an excellent platform for participants to gain knowledge, share experiences and obtain new ideas in strengthening community development and improving the wellbeing of residents in Samarahan and Asajaya.
Also present were Asajaya District Officer Jerry Zannuddin Bidin, Asajaya Assistant District Officer Hasanah Bujang, and Samarahan District Officer's representative Siti Zaharah Mohamad Mohmood. -UKASnews
