Sarawakku Sayang Development Dialogue Strengthens Cooperation Between People & Agencies
MATU: The Sarawakku Sayang Development Dialogue programme for the Jemoreng Constituency serves as an important vehicle in strengthening relations between the community and government agencies through information delivery and direct issue resolution.
Sarawak Deputy Minister in the Premier's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) and Jemoreng Assemblyman (ADUN) Datuk Dr. Juanda Jaya said such dialogues are the best platform to foster positive attitudes within the community toward government agencies, particularly when facing issues in their areas.
He also emphasised that the public must utilise the correct channels for complaints to enable immediate action to be taken by the relevant agencies, rather than continuously spreading issues on social media which does not lead to solutions.
“When complaints are channeled through the right avenues, every issue can be examined and resolved more effectively.
“Close cooperation between the community and government agencies is vital in ensuring that every problem can be properly addressed,” he said while chairing the dialogue held at the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Resource Centre of Kampung Tian on Friday.
Datuk Dr. Juanda also expressed his appreciation to all agencies that provided comprehensive explanations for every issue raised throughout the dialogue session.
The dialogue is the first series to be held this year, commencing with the Kampung Tian Zone which involves seven villages under the zone.
The programme brought together various government agencies, including the Mukah Resident's Office, Matu and Daro District Council (MDMD), Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Matu District Office, Baitulmal, Civil Defence Force of Malaysia (APM), Matu Department of Social Welfare (JKM), Department of Rural Water Supply (JBALB), Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), Mukah Public Works Department (JKR), as well as the Sarawak Economic Planning Unit (EPU), which also delivered a briefing on the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
Throughout the dialogue session, various issues and problems raised by residents were successfully gathered and given direct clarifications by officers from each attending agency.
Among the issues that received the most attention were those related to basic amenities and infrastructure development, thereby proving the community's attentiveness toward efforts to enhance the wellbeing of their respective areas.
The Sarawakku Sayang Development Dialogue programme will be extended to other zones within the Jemoreng constituency in the near future to ensure every community has the opportunity to voice their views and obtain information directly from the relevant agencies.
