Reinforce Culture Of Integrity To Strengthen Public Service Reputation
KUCHING: All personnel of the Human Resource Management and Development Unit (UPPSM) have been called on to reinforce the culture of integrity and accountability to ensure the delivery of quality public services and maintain the people's trust in government institutions.
The culture of integrity does not only involve crimes of corruption, malpractice and abuse of power, but also includes daily practices such as being punctual and performing duties prudently, including in the use of social media.
UPPSM Director Datu Sharifah Rohana Datu Wan Alwi said that in an effort to strengthen governance, all staff are also reminded that every position is a trust and any compromise on integrity can affect the reputation and erode the people's trust.
The integrity celebration held on Wednesday themed ‘Empowered Integrity, Quality Service’ is an annual event for the Office of the Sarawak Secretary and UPPSM, Sarawak Premier's Department, which was attended by 153 people.
The ceremony was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Mardiana Han from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sarawak who delivered an Integrity Talk.
As a symbol of the ongoing commitment to jointly supporting integrity initiatives in the Sarawak Civil Service, the recital of the Integrity Pledge was led by UPPSM Management Services Section Principal Assistant Director Abdul Emizan Razali. -UKASnews
