Sarawak Civil Service Officers Complete Customised Leaders In Governance Programme In Singapore
SINGAPORE: Thirty middle to senior level Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) officers completed the Customised Leaders in Governance Programme in Singapore, strengthening their understanding of how governance principles translate into public-service systems and citizen outcomes.
According to a statement, the five-day programme, held at the Civil Service College (CSC) Singapore from 27 to 31 July 2026, was organised by the Leadership Institute of Sarawak Civil Service (LISCS) in collaboration with the Human Resource Development and Management Unit (HRDM) and CSC Singapore.
“The programme covered six key topics namely, Public Governance and Accountability, Public Sector Transformation, Public Service Workforce Development, Resource Stewardship, Digital Innovation and Citizen Engagement.
“Participants learned directly from former senior Singapore public-service leaders and subject matter experts, including a former CSC Singapore Assistant Chief Executive, a former senior public-sector human resource leader and a former strategist from the Singaporean Prime Minister’s Office,” it said on Monday.
The practitioners shared insights into Singapore’s public-service systems, their underlying principles, implementation challenges and supporting institutional conditions.
The statement further noted that through learning visits to the Housing and Development Board, the Harmony in Diversity Gallery and the Singapore City Gallery connected classroom discussions with practical implementation.
The programme concluded with each participant developing a personal action plan to adapt relevant principles from their first-hand observations to strengthen public-service delivery in Sarawak and support the state’s development priorities under the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. -UKASnews
