KUCHING: The new Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia Raden Iman Hascarya Kusumo, and the new Director of the Sarawak Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hendy Assan paid a courtesy call to the Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, here, on Monday.

Also present during the visit was Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi's wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

The visit was held to officially introduce the two officers following their appointments to their respective positions.

Hendy Assan took over the position of Director of the Sarawak Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Dato Fenny Nuli, while Raden Iman Hascarya Kusumo was appointed as the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia, replacing Datuk Hermono.

The meeting also served as a platform to strengthen relations between the Sarawak Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia and the Sarawak Governor.

In addition, both parties exchanged views on efforts to strengthen cooperation in aspects of bilateral relations, diplomatic affairs and various international initiatives involving Sarawak.

The courtesy visit took place in a friendly atmosphere and reflected the continued commitment of all parties to strengthen strategic cooperation between Malaysia, Indonesia and the Sarawak Government in supporting development and closer diplomatic relations. -UKASnews
