Five FDS Personnel Honoured With Posthumous P.B.S. Awards
KUCHING: Five Flying Doctor Service (FDS) personnel who died in a helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Ulu Baram, on September 8 have been honoured as posthumous recipients of the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S.) in conjunction with the Sarawak investiture ceremony.
They were the late Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, the late Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, the late Alexson Adit Henry, the late Debra Moset and the late Jessie Paya Jok.
The awards recognise the contributions and sacrifices of the five personnel in carrying out their duties to provide healthcare services to the community, particularly residents in Sarawak’s rural and remote areas.
The FDS plays an important role in helping people in remote areas access medical treatment, especially communities facing geographical challenges and long distances to healthcare facilities.
The honours were conferred in conjunction with the 80th Birthday Celebration of the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar. -UKASnews
