Sarawak Civil Servants To Receive Special Financial Assistance Of Two Months’ Basic Salary, RM700 For Federal Civil Servants & Media Practitioners
KUCHING: The Sarawak Government has announced the provision of Special Financial Assistance (BKK) equivalent to two months' basic salary for 19,851 Sarawak Civil Service personnel based on their last basic salary in November 2026, involving an estimated expenditure of RM144 million.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said the assistance will be disbursed before the end of this year as a token of appreciation for the state civil servants' dedication and sacrifice.
He said this when delivering his ministerial winding-up speech at the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting here on Wednesday.
In addition, he announced a one-off BKK of RM700 for approximately 132,347 Federal civil servants serving in Sarawak, involving an estimated expenditure of RM93 million.
According to the Sarawak Premier, the assistance will be paid in the first quarter of 2027 in recognition of the contributions of Federal civil servants—including teachers, healthcare workers, and security personnel—in advancing the state's development.
In the same development, the Sarawak Premier also announced a one-off financial aid of RM500 for approximately 10,141 Sarawak State Civil Service retirees, with an estimated allocation of RM5.1 million.
To honor the contributions of media practitioners in disseminating information and news regarding the state's socioeconomic development, the Sarawak Government also announced a one-off RM700 incentive for private media practitioners registered under six media associations in Sarawak.
The Sarawak Premier expressed hope that these incentives would motivate recipients to continue serving diligently while further enhancing the quality of service delivery to the public. — UKASnews
