UNIFOR Helps Upgrade Three Mission Schools In Sarikei
SARIKEI: Three mission schools in Sarikei received an allocation totaling RM433,848 from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) to upgrade school infrastructure and facilities.
Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii said that the allocation demonstrates the Sarawak Government's continuous commitment to ensuring non-Islamic educational institutions receive due attention.
According to him, the assistance is crucial to ensuring school infrastructure remains in good condition, thereby providing a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for students.
“This assistance aims to ensure the infrastructure of non-Islamic schools and educational institutions in Sarikei continues to be preserved for the comfort of students.
“I hope the management of the involved schools can fully utilise the provided assistance to create a more conducive educational environment,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters after officiating the UNIFOR aid cheque presentation ceremony to representatives of the three school boards at the Sarikei Parliamentary Service Centre here on Friday.
The three schools receiving the allocation are the School Management Board of Methodist Anglo-Chinese School, the School Management Board of SJK(C) Su Kwong, and SJK(C) Su Lee.
In the meantime, Dato’ Sri Huang expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Premier of Sarawak for the continuous support and care shown through UNIFOR in helping upgrade the infrastructure and facilities of non-Islamic educational institutions in Sarawak.
He noted that this effort aligns with the Sarawak Government's approach of consistently prioritising educational development and community welfare regardless of background. — UKASnews
