LUBOK ANTU: The Sarawak Government remains committed to ensuring the state's development agenda is implemented comprehensively and inclusively for the wellbeing of the people, including those in rural areas.
Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, stated that the focus of development is not only geared toward economic growth but also encompasses social and educational aspects as a foundation for empowering the community holistically.
He said this during a 2026 Chinese New Year visit at Kampung Hulu here on Friday.
The visit did more than just enliven the Chinese New Year celebrations in a spirit of muhibbah (goodwill); it served as a platform to strengthen the relationship between leaders and the people while manifesting a continuous commitment to local development.
During the event, the Batang Ai Assemblyman announced an allocation totaling RM15,000 through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and Minor Rural Projects (MRP) to support the implementation of activities and the needs of the local community.
According to him, the provision of this allocation reflects the government's ongoing efforts to ensure that village development is not sidelined, in line with the aspirations to raise the living standards of the people at all levels.
