Deputy Sarawak Secretary Engages JKR On Improving Project Delivery Efficiency
KUCHING: Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, on Tuesday held an engagement session with the management and officers of the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, focusing on improving the effectiveness and timeliness of public project delivery across the State.
The visit began with a comprehensive briefing by JKR Sarawak Director Datu Ir Ts Dr Cassidy Morris, who outlined current project planning frameworks and implementation strategies.
This was followed by a dialogue session, during which JKR officers shared insights into operational challenges affecting project implementation and delivery timelines.
In his remarks, Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah emphasised the need for continuous improvement and innovation within the public service to ensure development projects are delivered on schedule.
He said timely project completion reflects the Government’s commitment to the people of Sarawak, who rely on these initiatives for better connectivity, improved services and an enhanced quality of life.
The session concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen collaboration with relevant Federal Government agencies, enhance project management practices and implement practical solutions to address existing challenges.
Also present were the Director of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) Sarawak Datu Ir Ts Awg Mohammad Fadillah Awg Redzuan, the Director of the State Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) Sapiah Daud, and other state government officials. -UKASnews
