RM74 Million Brayun-Basi-Lubok Tedung Road Project Now At Tender Stage
SIMANGGANG: The construction of the Brayun-Basi road, extending toward Lubok Tedung in Engkilili, is currently in the tendering phase with an estimated cost of RM74 million.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, stated that the project will begin with a 10-kilometre stretch from Brayun to Basi, followed by a further 13-kilometre link from Basi to Lubok Tedung.
Once completed, the Basi Road project will connect Simanggang town to the Pan Borneo Highway at Kampung Stuga, Engkilili.
This infrastructure is set to benefit ten longhouses and two primary schools in the surrounding area.
Datuk Francis, who is also Simanggang Assemblyman, shared these details during a visit from a Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sri Aman delegation at the Simanggang Service Centre on Thursday.
Furthermore, he noted that the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) has approved a 10-kilometre project linking Entulang Bungkang to Taman Harmoni.
This forms part of the Simanggang Link Road project; once the bypass from the Pan Borneo Highway through Entulang Bungkang is finalised, motorists will enjoy significantly easier access to the town.
Earlier in the meeting, the RTM Sri Aman delegation, led by Regina Ho, discussed proposals for two upcoming programmes, a Gawai Song Karaoke Competition and a Mandarin storytelling event.
While the exact dates and venues are yet to be finalised, it has been suggested that the Gawai Karaoke Competition take place in early May. -UKASnews
