Public Advised To Rely On Official Channels, Refrain From Sharing False Information Online
BELAWAI: The public is advised to channel any issues or complaints through official channels to ensure swift, accurate and effective action can be taken.
Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment and Kuala Rajang Assemblyman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, said strong cooperation between the community and government agencies is important to ensure that information shared is accurate and reaches the responsible parties.
He said that the dissemination of unverified information on social media may lead to confusion and could delay the resolution process.
“At the village level, community leaders and local chiefs play an important role as a bridge between the people and the government in conveying any complaints or grievances,” he said.
At the same time, he said several development projects are being and will be implemented in the Belawai area including an RM8.5 million 'Anjung Usahawan' project to support local entrepreneurs in marketing their products.
In addition, the development of a two-kilometre coastal embankment or waterfront at Pantai Belawai, costing RM164 million, is now in the final planning stage and is expected to have a positive impact on the local tourism sector.
In an effort to enhance connectivity, the upgrading of Tanjung Manis Airport has been prioritised to support existing infrastructure in the area.
He stressed that all these initiatives reflect the Sarawak Government’s commitment to ensuring the continued well-being of the people and ensuring they continue to benefit from development efforts.
The event which was organised by the Kuala Rajang Service Centre, was attended by about 350 local residents in a lively atmosphere in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration. -UKASnews
