50 Residents From 22 Iban Villages Receive SACOFA CSR Assistance In Conjunction With Gawai
SEBUYAU: A total of 50 recipients from 22 Iban villages in the Sebuyau area received food baskets and cash contributions through the Leaders with the People Programme and corporate social responsibility (CSR) presentation organised by SACOFA.
Minister for Utility and Telecommunication and Sebuyau Assemblyman, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, said that such programmes not only help lighten the burden of the recipients but also strengthen relationships between leaders, agencies, and the local community.
In connection with this, he expressed his appreciation to SACOFA for its continuous commitment to implementing CSR programmes for the well-being of the rural community, particularly in the Sebuyau area.
He said this while speaking at the event in Kampung Bulan here on Friday.
The assistance was distributed as part of efforts to help the needy in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Gawai Dayak celebration.
Meanwhile, during a similar programme at Kampung Lubok Manta Sebangan, Dato Sri Julaihi announced the approval of an allocation amounting to RM100,000 for upgrading work on the community hall to enhance facilities and convenience for the villagers.
According to him, such efforts reflect the continuous commitment of the government alongside related agencies in looking after the welfare of rural folks and strengthening community well-being.
In Kampung Lubok Manta, a total of 50 recipients from 12 Iban community villages in Sebangan also received food basket assistance from SACOFA.
Also present were SACOFA Chief Executive Officer Jafer Sadiq Abdul Lhatif and Acting Sebuyau District Officer Lois Andria Barieng. -UKASnews
