Inclusive Development Core Of Sarawak's Progress, Rural Areas Continue to be Prioritised
KUCHING: The Sarawak Government's commitment to ensuring that development is thoroughly enjoyed by the people, including those in rural areas, will remain a priority in efforts to build a progressive, sustainable, and competitive state.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that various development initiatives will continue to be empowered through the provision of infrastructure, basic facilities, education, as well as broader economic opportunities for the people across all corners of the state.
According to him, this inclusive development approach is vital to ensure that no community is left behind by the rapid wave of progress taking place in Sarawak.
“The Sarawak Government will remain committed to ensuring that development can be enjoyed by all people, including those in rural areas, through infrastructure development, basic facilities, education, as well as broader economic opportunities for the people,” he said in his 2026 Hari Gawai Dayak Message.
He noted that in facing changes in the global landscape and increasingly complex economic challenges, Sarawak is currently moving towards a new economy driven by innovation, green technology, and human capital development.
He added that this transformation is essential to ensure that Sarawak remains resilient and capable of creating more employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for the people, particularly the younger generation.
“Sarawak is now stepping towards a new economy driven by green technology innovation and human capital development so that our generation, especially the youth, will continue to have opportunities to progress and succeed in their own homeland,” he further stated.
In the meantime, he urged the public to drive prudently and comply with traffic regulations to avoid untoward incidents throughout the festive season, and hoped that this year's Hari Gawai Dayak would bring joy, blessings, and prosperity to all Sarawakians. — UKASnews
