Qurban & Aqiqah Programme Strengthens Community Bonds In Tupong
KUCHING: The 1447H/2026 Qurban and Aqiqah Programme, organised by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) Malaysia Sarawak, brought together members of the local community in a spirit of unity and blessings at Gita Laut on Saturday.
Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak and Tupong State Assemblyman, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, expressed his appreciation to the organisers and all participants who worked together to ensure the success of the programme.
According to him, the qurban ritual not only reflects obedience to Allah SWT but also serves as an important platform for strengthening ukhuwah (brotherhood), fostering the spirit of gotong-royong, and promoting togetherness within the community.
"It is hoped that this programme will continue to serve as a platform for strengthening ties between community leaders, government agencies, social organisations and local residents, while further encouraging charitable practices and the spirit of unity within the community," he said.
The programme involved the slaughtering, processing and distribution of qurban meat to those in need and residents in the surrounding areas.
The participation of volunteers from various segments of society also reflected a strong spirit of cooperation and unity in carrying out charitable activities rooted in Islamic values.
Also present were LHDN Malaysia, Sarawak Operations Director Rafidah Razali Ramali, Surau Darul Fadzlillah chairman Mahari Leng, Gita Laut village chief Othman Ridzuan, and President of the LHDN Malaysia Islamic Association Kuching, Masusanto Sapawi. -UKASnews
